Buffet at Flame & Grill ~ A Complete Review

We all have a foodie inside us. Believe it or not, it’s true. And for me, I am the kind of person who forgets everything if served with good food. Honestly, food is the purest form of joy. And when it comes to good food, life feels awesome. I am a foodie before anything else. If not an engineer, I would have been a chef for sure.
Before I move on to the review, I want to thank ZOMATO for granting me my blogger access. And this is gonna be my first restaurant review after being a certified zomato blogger  B-) Really zomato……much love! Keep the foodie in us all alive!

Recently my sister flew down with my one year old niece here. Since we all missed our dearest Saana’s birthday , sis decided to treat us all here at our very favorite “Flame & Grill” restaurant. Being foodies, all of us readily agreed.

Flame & Grill, was one of those restaurants that started offering live bar-b-que here in Kolkata. Now many buffet joints have opened but this continues to be many of our’s favorite. I remember having my first bar-b-que and buffet session here. That is why it’ll always remain very special to me.

I don’t know how many of you reading this have visited there, but, to begin with, Flame & Grill is a meat lover’s delight. Yes there are options in veggie too but I was alwaaaaaays interested in the non-veg one 😛  It is famous for its array of kebabs and starters. Trust me, they serve so much of starters that you won’t have any place left for main course or dessert. I won’t go into the interior decor and all. I’d rather focus on the food in this post. So, without much delay……let’s start..!

The first thing you’ll be served are starters. There are varieties of them. Few of them are Prawn kebab, chicken tandoori, shammi kebab, fish chop, chicken malai roll, another variety of chicken kebab and lots more. Last day I managed to click pics of very few of them but guys I am sorry…..I couldn’t carry my camera, so had to click using my phone. Few pics may seem dull because of the low lights.

The first pic is of chicken malai roll and fish chop. Now, their menu keeps changing. So I would humbly request the chef that “Pllllleeeeeeeaaase keep the chicken malai roll in your menu forever”. Its light tortillas filled with soft juicy chicken tossed in white sauce and cheese. Its not overpowering, has the perfect seasoning, its light and yummmmyyyy. It’s one of my favorites now. The fish chop was okay-ish. Mom and sis loved it though. I guess, I can’t complain. And in the second pic, you can see how its stashed with kebabs. Don’t they look yummy?? I am getting hungry now! You can eat as much as you want here. Yes. AS MUCH AS YOU WANT.

After gorging on them, I was almost full. It was then time for main course. Here I don’t have all the pics but there are many variants in both veg and non-veg areas. I am giving the list below:
IN VEG: Steamed rice, pulao, dal makhani, paneer saag masala, kumbh sabzi, chef’s special sabzi, teel mili sabzi and veg salads.

IN NON-VEG: Kolkata dum biryani, butter chicken, chef’s special mutton, chef’s special fish, jhinga masala and three kinds of salads.

In bread they have naan and lachha paratha.

I simply loved the biryani. It was light, mildly spiced and tasty. Butter chicken could have been better. Dal makhani was really nice. Special mention goes  to the “Chef’s special fish” and “Jhinga masala”. They were yummy. The naan was soft and fluffy. Paneer saag masala was super yummy. I love anything that is made with paneer so…..! Kumbh sabzi was quite good too.  What I didn’t like was the “Chef’s special mutton”. It was a no-no for me.

Now after all these, comes the dessert section. I was soooo much full already but can’t give up dessert. `

The mousses were really good….especially the paan flavored one. It was really really good. It had such a unique flavor. Chocolate mousse was also nice. BUt I didn’t like the pineapple one. If you are an ice-cream lover, then Flame & Grill offers you four varieties of ice cream and you can have as much as you want. You can top them with chocolate sauce, strawberry jelly, mango jelly, sweetened nuts and even chocolate chips. But I went with the classic “Gulab Jamun with Ice Cream”. They had soft hot gulab jamuns floating and I simply couldn’t resist. Had quite a few of them. They also had shahi tukda and peanut butter with chocolate brownie. They were equally good. They also had a chocolate cherry roulade which wa again okay-ish. They were serving dudhi halwa yesterday and noooooo its not for me. I think the dudhi had to be cooked a little bit more. It felt raw.

So……are you guys hungry yet???? I bet you are. Simply grab your wallet and rush to Flame & Grill today. They are a complete value for money restaurant with buffet service. Apart from all these what I loved was the behavior of the staffs. They were soooo friendly and helpful. I loved it again. Every time I am there, I fall in love with it a little more. But to be honest, the quality of food was little better when they first opened. I strongly feel, if they  put a little bit more effort, this will be one of Kolkata’s biggest buffet joints. Even now they are. And no matter what, we will always love you 🙂

I took the screenshot to let you guys know about the pricing. Hope you find it useful 🙂

Without much delay, treat the foodie in you to some real good dishes here at Flame & Grill. Don’t forget to comment below about your experience and also tips regarding how I can improve my blog 🙂
Till then…..take care guys…..Much Love XOXO

Moringa Body Butter from The Body Shop ~ A Complete Review

Helloooo lovely people….how are you all? I am sure everything is smokin’ hot right now in your life 😉 As I am writing this one, its already 40 degrees outside and every thing around me is probably melting…..and I am feeling like I am being roasted 😀 So, I decided that I won’t let the weather bother me and I’ll beat the heat with this beautiful buttery goodness i.e. The Moringa Body Butter from our very special “The Body Shop”.

The Body Shop was the first brand that introduced the concept of “Body Butter” to me. A relative of mine had gifted me a set that had a small strawberry body butter, a body polish and a shower gel with a loofah in a pretty red bag from The Body Shop. Since then I have been pretty obsessed with body butters. The first time I had had touched it, I swear it really felt like butter. That small tub of strawberry body butter had got me mad for more body butters and obviously got me addicted to The Body Shop. Whenever, whichever shopping mall I am and if they have a shop there, I always go inside them just to feel my fingers brush against all their products. And their perfumes, always make me go back for more.

This time, my dear elder sister, Rinky, got a big tub of Moringa Body Butter for mom. Because its for mom, I have the full right to call it my own 😛  Now, let’s start with the review of this gorgeous thing in a gorgeous tub!

Yep, that’s how classy it looks.

The body butter comes in an off-white tub with their traditional “The Body Shop” logo sitting peacefully on a picture of a Moringa flower. Its a screw tub that holds the product quite securely. Around the tub there are the measurements and claims. This body butter claims 24 hours hydration for dry skin.

It’s made with moringa seed oil and you must store it in a cool dry place! It comes with a QR code. If you scan it, they take you to The Body Shop’s site.

Now, the moment you open the tub, the first thing that will hit you is the smell of moringa. Its smells heavenly. It is a sweet flowery smell that fills all your senses. I am total fan of this smell. I even went to their counter to buy a Moringa perfume 😛

Many of you must be thinking, what is Moringa. Moringa is nothing but the flower of the Drumstick tree. Yep, our very own drumstick trees. Did you ever know that they smell so good? I never did. And I am amazed.

Coming to the texture, its a thick buttery white cream. Its kind of heavy whipped cream that doesn’t fall off the bowl even when you tilt it upside down. Its even heavier than that.

You see how thick and creamy that is?

Always, always and always apply your moisturizer or body butter just after you have come out of your bath or shower. Because your body is clean then and ready to absorb all the goodness from these.

You need a very little of the product to cover your skin. This is very good if you have dry and patchy elbows and knees. Body butters are great for that. This one in particular keeps the skin moisturized and hydrated for really long time. If you have extremely dry skin, then you may have to re-apply after 7-8 hours. But for me I use it just once and this gives me good results.

Your skin will readily absorb this leaving behind a silky smooth soft finish. And the smell….its mesmerizing. But sadly it doesn’t last for more than 2 hours.

This tub contains 192 grams or 200 ml or 6.75 OZ of the product. It retails for Rs. 1095.

  • Extremely hydrating
  • Available everywhere
  • Smells heavenly
  • Feels really beautiful on skin
  • Improves skin texture

  • For me nothing but many might find the cost to be on the higher side. Let me tell you, good quality body butters cost a bit on the higher side.

Will I repurchase???

YES. It’s a total value for money product.

I hope you enjoyed reading this. If you liked it, don’t forget to hit like, comment and share it 🙂

Till  next time….stay gorgeous, stay beautiful…….LOVE XOXO

Lakme Crease-less Peach Path Lipstick Review

Hello gorgeous and lovely people! How are you all? I am back again with another review. This time its a lipstick. *claps*

To begin with, I am not much of a lipstick girl. I prefer lip balms. Yes, every time I go out I put on tinted lip balm and not lipstick. Off late, I saw some real good shades and wanted to try a few. Mostly I wanted a lipstick that I can wear every day to college and won’t even look like I’m wearing one. You get it right what I’m trying to say? I prefer the natural look a lot and hence when it comes to going to college, I hardly do any make up. One day just out of nowhere, I came across this one and in a jiffy, just bought it. I am using since last week and I think I can write about it. So let’s get started 🙂

This is the Lakme 9 to 5 Crease-less lipstick in the shade “Peach Path”.12

Just like any other lipstick of this range, even this one comes in a cute peachy shimmery metallic roll-up container. The cap fits it tightly so even if you keep it in your bag, it won’t slip out and create a mess.
Coming, to the texture, this lipstick is reallyyyyy creamy. It glides easily on your lips. After you apply it, for sometime you’ll feel like you just applied a lip balm. But that feeling doesn’t last longer. And that crease-less claim…….now tell me, do you really think that’s possible??? I have lips that get dry all the year round. I always have to moisturize my lips. Yes your lips appear crease-less for a minute or two but then after that….there is nothing really special.

Now when you look at it, the lipstick, you will feel like its a milk-chocolaty kinda color. But when you swipe it, you’ll realize that its a beautiful natural nutty and peachy kinda shade with orange undertones. Its really a beautiful natural color. But, but, but……if you have pigmented lips, the color won’t show up in one or two swipes. You’ll need multiple swipes on your lips to build up the color. This is a matte color and has absolutely no shimmer to it. Perfect for college and office wear. Also great to wear in summer for a brunch.

It stays on for 2 to 3 hours without meals. If you eat, I’m sorry to say……it fades off!

It is a beautiful color right???? It retails for Rs. 450 (get it from amazon at a much less amount) for 3.6 ml.

Let’s discuss the pros and cons of this one!

  • Beautiful shade
  • Sort of hydrating.
  • Glides on easily.
  • Packaging is good.

  • Pricey compared to the quality and amount.
  • Doesn’t stay for long.

Will I repurchase????

Maybe I’ll try out other shades but currently I won’t repurchase this coz it would take me a life time to finish this one off 😀

Will I recommend????

Yes. Give this shade a try. Its a beautiful color.

So, I hope you enjoyed the review. I’ll be back again with some more reviews and DIYs. Till then…..take care, stay beautiful and gorgeous. LOVE XOXO
