The 5-in-1 Facial Massager

Hellloooo lovely people! How are you all ??? I hope life is treating you beautifully. I really enjoying reading about all the viewers of my blog and I really really realllyyyy love it when you comment down below about all those happening things in your life. I enjoy reading them so much and I love to get back to you guys.

Today, I’m gonna talk about a “Beauty Gadget”. Yep. I don’t if you have seen but I have found many people use a rotating brush on their face and they claim that it deeply cleanses the skin and pores. Now, the normal washing technique i.e. using our fingers doesn’t always help in deep cleansing and you know that you can’t get deep into your pores with your fingers! So you need something really fine to go deep into your skin and clean it. And exactly for that purpose, this gadget was invented. I looked up in the internet and I found that they cost quite a lot. I mean, if you are okay with paying Rs. 3000 to Rs. 5000 for a product then it’s fine or else for students like me, who are trying to take care of their skin on a budget, the one that I’m gonna write about today will prove to be a game changer!

One day while browsing the net, I stumbled across this product in Amazon. It’s a facial massager and a cleaner that retails for just Rs.349. Well I bought it when it was just Rs. 251. I think it has got some real good feedback and they have now increased the price. Still it’s affordable. You can buy and check it out here.

1

It comes with the machine and 5 attachment parts. The parts rotate effectively and you need two AA batteries to make it work.

2

I am soooo happy that I received the pink one! The machine has 2 settings, high and low. In high the head rotates pretty fast and in the low settings its comparatively slower. There are 5 different rotating heads in it.

5

3

You can use the rough one to remove hardened skin cells like around your ankles. There are two sponges….one for eye make-up remover and the bigger one to remove make-up from the face. Now it claims that you can even apply foundation with the sponge but I haven’t tried it that way. There is another rolling massager that helps to massage creams and lotions deep into the skin. And lastly, there is my favorite one that helps to clean the skin by sweeping out all the dirt from the pores. Yep it’s the soft bristled brush.

4

(Look at my hand……I have got tanned soooo much in the last couple of weeks).

Okay….now you can see the bristles. At first you might feel that its really hard and rough. So the first few times I’d suggest you rub a little bit shower gel or soap around your ankles and use it there. It’ll soften the bristles. One thing you need to remember is that……CLEAN YOUR BRUSH EXTREMELY WELL AND DRY THEM BEFORE NEXT USE. No matter which rotating head you are using, you need to clean it really well. So the first couple of times after using it on your ankles, clean it really really reallllyyyyy well and dry it. In a mug, in some water, add some shower gel or shampoo….soak the brush head for few minutes….wash it….run it under water and then air dry.

Coming tot he procedure of using this brush…..quite simple! You’ll need your favorite face wash (preferably use a foaming face wash) and take a little bit more than you usually use. Rub it on your fingers and foam it up, later on wet face generously and then take the massager/cleaner, turn on the low setting first and slowly start moving on your face from chin to forehead. Cover your entire face and then increase the speed to high and clean one more time. Wash off your face with cold water (you should end your skin care regime with cold water to lock the pores) , pat dry and apply a moisturizer. Tada! You are done! Remember not to use this on your face for more than 30 seconds. You can use this massager on your face twice a week. That would be enough to deep clean the skin.

Pros:

  • Unclogs pores
  • Helps control oil secretion
  • Deeply cleanses skin
  • Gives a fresh feel after use
  • Affordable
  • Easy to carry….the size is moderate and easily fits even in your handbag!
  • The packaging is realllyyy good

Cons:

  • Initially I think they should send it with the batteries. Come on it’s 2016….can’t you send the batteries!!!!

So my lovely people…..what do you think??? I think you should go ahead and try this. If you have oily skin and clogged pores then you need this. Get it today and let me know how much you like it. For any more queries you can always comment down below! Till then….lots of lots of lots of Love…..XOXO

Haven’t tried this one yet but it’s suppose to restore the pH balance of the skin. The label around it says that it has a floral smell but it has a really really really faint smell. It is priced at Rs. 800 for 100ml.
5

3. Gulnare Sea Flo face wash (full size):
A face wash that is handmade and is organic. Sounds tempting right??? I love to use all natural stuff for my face so I am pretty excited about this. I am really soooo much excited to try this. And it costs Rs. 350 for 120ml.
4

4. Island Kiss Lip Moisturizer (full size):
This has the coolest and sassy-est packaging ever. It has kokum butter and organic almond oil along with various other organic stuff. Its 100% organic and 100 % vegan. This one is the Puerto Berry Blush version which has a reddish tint to it. It is priced at Rs. 499 for 14gms. This is one thing I am totally in love because of the packaging. It sits pretty in my bag 🙂
6

Moringa Body Butter from The Body Shop ~ A Complete Review

Helloooo lovely people….how are you all? I am sure everything is smokin’ hot right now in your life 😉 As I am writing this one, its already 40 degrees outside and every thing around me is probably melting…..and I am feeling like I am being roasted 😀 So, I decided that I won’t let the weather bother me and I’ll beat the heat with this beautiful buttery goodness i.e. The Moringa Body Butter from our very special “The Body Shop”.

The Body Shop was the first brand that introduced the concept of “Body Butter” to me. A relative of mine had gifted me a set that had a small strawberry body butter, a body polish and a shower gel with a loofah in a pretty red bag from The Body Shop. Since then I have been pretty obsessed with body butters. The first time I had had touched it, I swear it really felt like butter. That small tub of strawberry body butter had got me mad for more body butters and obviously got me addicted to The Body Shop. Whenever, whichever shopping mall I am and if they have a shop there, I always go inside them just to feel my fingers brush against all their products. And their perfumes, always make me go back for more.

This time, my dear elder sister, Rinky, got a big tub of Moringa Body Butter for mom. Because its for mom, I have the full right to call it my own 😛  Now, let’s start with the review of this gorgeous thing in a gorgeous tub!
1

Yep, that’s how classy it looks.

23

The body butter comes in an off-white tub with their traditional “The Body Shop” logo sitting peacefully on a picture of a Moringa flower. Its a screw tub that holds the product quite securely. Around the tub there are the measurements and claims. This body butter claims 24 hours hydration for dry skin.

4

It’s made with moringa seed oil and you must store it in a cool dry place! It comes with a QR code. If you scan it, they take you to The Body Shop’s site.

Now, the moment you open the tub, the first thing that will hit you is the smell of moringa. Its smells heavenly. It is a sweet flowery smell that fills all your senses. I am total fan of this smell. I even went to their counter to buy a Moringa perfume 😛

Many of you must be thinking, what is Moringa. Moringa is nothing but the flower of the Drumstick tree. Yep, our very own drumstick trees. Did you ever know that they smell so good? I never did. And I am amazed.

Coming to the texture, its a thick buttery white cream. Its kind of heavy whipped cream that doesn’t fall off the bowl even when you tilt it upside down. Its even heavier than that.

5

You see how thick and creamy that is?

Application:

Always, always and always apply your moisturizer or body butter just after you have come out of your bath or shower. Because your body is clean then and ready to absorb all the goodness from these.

You need a very little of the product to cover your skin. This is very good if you have dry and patchy elbows and knees. Body butters are great for that. This one in particular keeps the skin moisturized and hydrated for really long time. If you have extremely dry skin, then you may have to re-apply after 7-8 hours. But for me I use it just once and this gives me good results.

67

Your skin will readily absorb this leaving behind a silky smooth soft finish. And the smell….its mesmerizing. But sadly it doesn’t last for more than 2 hours.

This tub contains 192 grams or 200 ml or 6.75 OZ of the product. It retails for Rs. 1095.

Pros:

  • Extremely hydrating
  • Available everywhere
  • Smells heavenly
  • Feels really beautiful on skin
  • Improves skin texture

CONS:

  • For me nothing but many might find the cost to be on the higher side. Let me tell you, good quality body butters cost a bit on the higher side.

Will I repurchase???

YES. It’s a total value for money product.

I hope you enjoyed reading this. If you liked it, don’t forget to hit like, comment and share it 🙂

Till  next time….stay gorgeous, stay beautiful…….LOVE XOXO

DIY ROSE WATER

1Helloooo lovely people! How are you doing? Hope everything is sunny in your life and hope the summer is not torturing you yet 🙂

Here is Kolkata its tooo sunny and too humid. And its a nightmare for oily skinned beauties. Our make-ups don’t stay up longer. Our face shines with oil all day and night. And we can’t keep those pimples at bay. Yes, oily skinned people like me simply hate summers. And with all those sweating and sebum secreting, we keep rubbing our face and make it more red. Uuuuurgh I hate summers!

To keep your skin toned and healthy and hydrated, I have come up with this beautiful and superb easy DIY. It’s ROSE WATER. Yes I know you can buy it easily from the stores but let me tell you one thing…….those store bought rose water have no nutrients in them. Its just water, rose essence/rose oil and preservatives. For someone like me, who has sensitive and oily skin, I like to know what I’m putting on my face. That’s why I came up with this and trust me once you make this and use this, you’ll never “BUY” rose water again. So, let’s begin…… 🙂

What you’ll need:

  1. Roses. (I took 4 red roses. You can use either red or pink roses….whatever is available)
  2. Water
  3. Rose oil/essence (optional)

Let’s see how to make it 🙂

  • Take off the petals from the roses. Discard the stem and leaves.
  • Take a pan, put the rose petals and pour water. The water must be just enough to cover the rose petals. If you want stronger smell then you can use less water but the appropriate proportion is 1 cup of petals to 2 cups of water i.e. 1:2 rose petals to water.
  • Cover the pan with a lid. Place it on a stove and let it simmer at the lowest heat possible. Don’t boil it. Never ever boil it.
  • At around 15-20 minutes of simmering, you’ll see that the petals have started to turn white and they are leaving all their color.
  • Simmer for another 5 minutes and turn off the heat.

2

This is exactly how the petals begin to look after simmering for 15 minutes. I took bright red roses. And they had already left their color. At this stage you’ll know that its done and let it sit.

  • Turn off the heat. Let it cool down completely.
  • If you want to have a stronger rose like smell, after it has cooled down, add 10-12 drops of it and give it a stir with spoon.
  • Strain it, pour it in your favorite mason jar or spray bottle and you are good to go 🙂

3

Isn’t this the easiest way to make rose water! There are many other ways but I found this to be the easiest one.

Few things let me tell you. This one will not have a rose like smell after cooling. So if you really want that rose smell, you’ll need essence or oil. And refrigerate it. Once you keep it refrigerated, it’ll last for a month. If you want it to last more then add a shot of vodka in it. And the lid of the pan that you’ll use while simmering, make sure that it has no holes in it. Don’t let the vapor escape.

Try this one guys. You can add it in your face pack, take it in a cotton ball and wipe your face, wet a tissue and rub gently rub your face…..it’s good for everything. We all know that rose water is a wonderful toner and no matter what skin type you have it’ll help your skin to stay fresh, less irritated and hydrated. Plus, it helps shrink pores. So why wait……go and make this today 🙂

Don’t forget to tell me how it turned out and if you have any more queries, feel free to post. If you want more DIYs then also do tell me.

Till then….stay beautiful….. XOXO  🙂 Love you all 🙂

Facia~ Facial Bar Review

Hellooo lovelies….how are you all doing??? I hope everybody is at their best of health and spirit. Again I think I’m writing a post after a week or so….everyday I make up my mind to write something here but somehow laziness just overcomes everything. Anyway here I am writing another post for a “FACIAL BAR”. Let’s read about my experience with it.
The name is FACIA. Its from Ratan Ayurvedic and retails for Rs. 40/- and you’ll find it at any cosmetic store. One bar, if you use twice daily will last you for a month and a half! I remember I saw its TVC long back in the 90’s when I was a kiddo. I had totally forgotten about this thing by the time I turned 20 and then one day I found it in a shop and thought of using it. The bar comes in a pinkish white packaging with the hologram of “FACIA” and they have recently added the tag “SPA” to it (I dunno why!!!!). It claims to have kesar and chandan and we all know how much beneficial these two are for the skin. Let’s take a look at it.

1

Now let’s take a look at how it works, what it has and how we are supposed to use it.

2

Now coming to the five F’s , leaving the rest I think every other skin product in the Indian market claims to make you “FAIR”. That is something I really hate. For everything that claims to make us fair, there are those outside the Indian subcontinent who are dying to get tanned. I guess we are never satisfied with what we have….even our skin tone. But if you ask me, I totally hate this “FAIR” claim because I literally don’t think that fair people are the most gorgeous people. Where we have beauties like Katrina Kaif here, we also have the dusky talents like Sushmita Sen, Deepika Padukone, Nandita Das and so on. We all are beautiful irrespective of skin tone and every product that claims to make you fair are just claiming it to increase their sales and they just give a temporary glow in the skin that makes you appear fairer for few hours. I believe in healthy skin and if your skin is healthy you’ll automatically have a natural glow!

As it states, you have to use it minimum twice to get the benefits of it. Its ingredients are pretty good and it smells like it has camphor in it. There are also kesar like strands on top of the bar. The bar is basically midway of transparent and opaque…..somewhat like the Pears soap. Here is how it looks…..

3

It comes with a small plastic case for holding it and it looks really cute.

Now let’s get down to the actual review.

I have oily and acne prone skin with few acne marks here and there. And in summers my skin feels like it has been soaked in oil. The first time I used it for a week I didn’t notice any change. But…….after a month……I found that with constant use, the tan I had all over my face and neck was lightening. Plus, there were fewer and fewer pimples on my face. Can you believe that? A product that costs just Rs. 40 and really doesn’t look that awesome like those costly products actually doing that? This product did it. It lightened my tan and reduced my pimples. Yes in summers I still have pimples but just a few. Previously my face used to be covered in pimples almost and now its almost gone. Yes I use ointments prescribed by the doctor but I think using them paired with this facial bar helped the acne disappear faster. This soap/bar lathers up quite well and efficiently removes make up. Your skin will feel dry after you have used this in winter so use a moisturizer after using it. But in summers, since I have oily skin its pretty okay with me. My skin feels oil free and really free from all the dirt and sebum.

But this won’t control oil secretion. My skin still feels oily in summer as I have an excessive oily T-zone. I would recommend to use it twice a week and definitely before bed time. Before going off to sleep, wash your face with this and apply your night cream and gradually you’ll feel your skin becoming healthy.

It won’t make you fair but yes it helps in reducing tan. With prolonged use, your skin will hardly even tan in summer. How cool is that???? I know its pretty awesome.

So, give this little so-what-not-so-appealing packaged facial bar a try for at-least a month and see the results for yourself. I can guarantee that you’ll feel a lot of change in your skin and this will make you happy and soon you’ll swear by it. Buy this today.

Now….the pros and cons:

Pros:

  • Helps in reducing tan
  • Helps prevent pimples
  • Keeps skin healthy
  • Gives a subtle glow in the skin with prolonged use

Cons:

  • This is not travel friendly. How can you carry a soap when you are travelling?
  • Few might not like the smell

Yup, not much cons! So final verdict???

Will I repurchase????  I am using this for a year now and already on my fourth one! So hell yeah!

Is it cost effective???? This does wonders to your skin at just Rs. 40/-…..judge it for yourself!

I’ll strongly recommend that everyone give this a try and don’t forget to tell me how it fared on your skin! Till then……take care and stay beautiful 🙂

The SPA CEYLON Green Mint Cooling Foot Scrub

Hellloooo people! How have you been? Are the winters treating you good??? Here at my place it rained frequently yesterday and I kind of hated it! I like sunny winters with little breeze. After all winters are meant to be cherished right…..all those things you couldn’t do in summers like make-up and stuff…..(we ladies know how tough it gets to keep make up in place during summers)…..winter is the time when we all live up to it. But but but…….winters mean a little extra care for your skin and hair and everything. So, today, I’m gonna post a review of an item that can be used all the year round to keep our feet soft and supple.

To begin with, despite this being my first post for the blog, let me tell you that I got this product with my October Fab-Bag. I got a 3 month subscription of fab-bag and this came with it. I think you all should give fab bag a try…..I love it and I’m planning to go for a 6 month subscription (after I save a little money ….hehehe). Okay without wasting much time, lets just read what this product does and how to use it…!

The SPA CEYLON Green Mint Cooling Foot Scrub comes in a green tub with a black screw cap. Its written all over in white and this looks pretty cute in my shelf where I keep all make-up and essential stuff. This is an Ayurveda product. Let’s take a look at the packaging and all…!

Now lets have a look at its ingredients. The ingredients list is quite long and from what I read I think its all a mixture of various essential oils.

edited3

It has soya bean oil, virgin coconut oil, peppermint oil (that’s why its the green mint scrub), olive oil, ceylon margosa oil, lemon grass oil, pure bees honey, walnut shell extract (it gives the scrubbing effect) and various various other good things.

The first thing I liked about this product is that its a PARABEN FREE product. Now this is something everybody should keep in mind. Paraben and SLS does more damage to your skin and hair than anything. Try to refrain from products that contain these. This product is also 100% vegetarian.

CLAIMS: TRIDOSHA suitable for all dosha and skin type. A natural purifying formula to soften, smoothen and revitalize feet. Lime peel, dark grape & volcanic minerals help remove rough patches & hard skin, lightening discolourations. Peppermint and lemongrass essential oils cool and refresh feet, controlling foot odour. Margosa and virgin coconut nourish, soothe & relax for total foot comfort.

This scrub has a toothpasty consistency and is thick. This no doubt gives a good scrubbing effect.

The instructions say to massage this onto your feet in circular motions for 5 minutes and one must give a little extra time to the dry rough patches. Then you should wash off and dry it.

Over many years one thing that I have learnt is that different products work in different ways. For me this method did nothing to my feet. When you’ll apply you’ll see that its quite dry and the granules don’t really stick on the feet so that you can massage. What I did was after cleaning my feet I dabbed on a little moisturizer and spread it evenly. Then i took little bit of this scrub on my fingers and massaged all over my feet and soles, wore socks and went off to sleep. Next morning I woke up to soft and supple feet that looked nourished. And I’m continuing this method and this one has really helped me fight discolorations on the skin. My feet were extremely tanned and it really helped lighten it.

Now the price is a bit too high. I got a free sample that had 50 grams of product. But the originals price is Rs. 1100/- for 300 ml.  This 50 grams tub will last me the whole winter so I guess the usual one will last longer.

PROS:

  • It’s paraben free.
  • Helps fight discoloration.
  • Gives supple feet.
  • Smells minty fresh.

CONS:

  •       Pricey pricey pricey!!! Now I would never pay Rs. 1100/- for a foot scrub. I once used a Jovees feet scrub that worked too good on my skin and it costs within 200 bucks. So yeah, I won’t buy this. If price is not a problem for you then you can definitely buy it.

So this is it for the Spa Ceylon feet scrub. Let me know if you liked it or you didn’t. You can also comment down below with products that you’d like me to review. Till then enjoy winters!!! Love you XOXO
