Moringa Body Butter from The Body Shop ~ A Complete Review

Helloooo lovely people….how are you all? I am sure everything is smokin’ hot right now in your life ๐Ÿ˜‰ As I am writing this one, its already 40 degrees outside and every thing around me is probably melting…..and I am feeling like I am being roasted ๐Ÿ˜€ So, I decided that I won’t let the weather bother me and I’ll beat the heat with this beautiful buttery goodness i.e. The Moringa Body Butter from our very special “The Body Shop”.

The Body Shop was the first brand that introduced the concept of “Body Butter” to me. A relative of mine had gifted me a set that had a small strawberry body butter, a body polish and a shower gel with a loofah in a pretty red bag from The Body Shop. Since then I have been pretty obsessed with body butters. The first time I had had touched it, I swear it really felt like butter. That small tub of strawberry body butter had got me mad for more body butters and obviously got me addicted to The Body Shop. Whenever, whichever shopping mall I am and if they have a shop there, I always go inside them just to feel my fingers brush against all their products. And their perfumes, always make me go back for more.

This time, my dear elder sister, Rinky, got a big tub of Moringa Body Butter for mom. Because its for mom, I have the full right to call it my own ๐Ÿ˜› ย Now, let’s start with the review of this gorgeous thing in a gorgeous tub!

Yep, that’s how classy it looks.

The body butter comes in an off-white tub with their traditional “The Body Shop” logo sitting peacefully on a picture of a Moringa flower. Its a screw tub that holds the product quite securely. Around the tub there are the measurements and claims. This body butter claims 24 hours hydration for dry skin.

It’s made with moringa seed oil and you must store it in a cool dry place! It comes with a QR code. If you scan it, they take you to The Body Shop’s site.

Now, the moment you open the tub, the first thing that will hit you is the smell of moringa. Its smells heavenly. It is a sweet flowery smell that fills all your senses. I am total fan of this smell. I even went to their counter to buy a Moringa perfume ๐Ÿ˜›

Many of you must be thinking, what is Moringa. Moringa is nothing but the flower of the Drumstick tree. Yep, our very own drumstick trees. Did you ever know that they smell so good? I never did. And I am amazed.

Coming to the texture, its a thick buttery white cream. Its kind of heavy whipped cream that doesn’t fall off the bowl even when you tilt it upside down. Its even heavier than that.

You see how thick and creamy that is?

Always, always and always apply your moisturizer or body butter just after you have come out of your bath or shower. Because your body is clean then and ready to absorb all the goodness from these.

You need a very little of the product to cover your skin. This is very good if you have dry and patchy elbows and knees. Body butters are great for that. This one in particular keeps the skin moisturized and hydrated for really long time. If you have extremely dry skin, then you may have to re-apply after 7-8 hours. But for me I use it just once and this gives me good results.

Your skin will readily absorb this leaving behind a silky smooth soft finish. And the smell….its mesmerizing. But sadly it doesn’t last for more than 2 hours.

This tub contains 192 grams or 200 ml or 6.75 OZ of the product. It retails for Rs. 1095.

  • Extremely hydrating
  • Available everywhere
  • Smells heavenly
  • Feels really beautiful on skin
  • Improves skin texture

  • For me nothing but many might find the cost to be on the higher side. Let me tell you, good quality body butters cost a bit on the higher side.

Will I repurchase???ย

YES. It’s a total value for money product.

I hope you enjoyed reading this. If you liked it, don’t forget to hit like, comment and share it ๐Ÿ™‚

Till ย next time….stay gorgeous, stay beautiful…….LOVE XOXO

Lakme Crease-less Peach Path Lipstick Review

Hello gorgeous and lovely people! How are you all? I am back again with another review. This time its a lipstick. *claps*

To begin with, I am not much of a lipstick girl. I prefer lip balms. Yes, every time I go out I put on tinted lip balm and not lipstick. Off late, I saw some real good shades and wanted to try a few. Mostly I wanted a lipstick that I can wear every day to college and won’t even look like I’m wearing one. You get it right what I’m trying to say? I prefer the natural look a lot and hence when it comes to going to college, I hardly do any make up. One day just out of nowhere, I came across this one and in a jiffy, just bought it. I am using since last week and I think I can write about it. So let’s get started ๐Ÿ™‚

This is the Lakme 9 to 5 Crease-less lipstick in the shade “Peach Path”.12

Just like any other lipstick of this range, even this one comes in a cute peachy shimmery metallic roll-up container. The cap fits it tightly so even if you keep it in your bag, it won’t slip out and create a mess.
Coming, to the texture, this lipstick is reallyyyyy creamy. It glides easily on your lips. After you apply it, for sometime you’ll feel like you just applied a lip balm. But that feeling doesn’t last longer. And that crease-less claim…….now tell me, do you really think that’s possible??? I have lips that get dry all the year round. I always have to moisturize my lips. Yes your lips appear crease-less for a minute or two but then after that….there is nothing really special.

Now when you look at it, the lipstick, you will feel like its a milk-chocolaty kinda color. But when you swipe it, you’ll realize that its a beautiful natural nutty and peachy kinda shade with orange undertones. Its really a beautiful natural color. But, but, but……if you have pigmented lips, the color won’t show up in one or two swipes. You’ll need multiple swipes on your lips to build up the color. This is a matte color and has absolutely no shimmer to it. Perfect for college and office wear. Also great to wear in summer for a brunch.

It stays on for 2 to 3 hours without meals. If you eat, I’m sorry to say……it fades off!

It is a beautiful color right???? It retails for Rs. 450 (get it from amazon at a much less amount) for 3.6 ml.

Let’s discuss the pros and cons of this one!

  • Beautiful shade
  • Sort of hydrating.
  • Glides on easily.
  • Packaging is good.

  • Pricey compared to the quality and amount.
  • Doesn’t stay for long.

Will I repurchase????

Maybe I’ll try out other shades but currently I won’t repurchase this coz it would take me a life time to finish this one off ๐Ÿ˜€

Will I recommend????

Yes. Give this shade a try. Its a beautiful color.

So, I hope you enjoyed the review. I’ll be back again with some more reviews and DIYs. Till then…..take care, stay beautiful and gorgeous. LOVE XOXO

Keeping it light with LIPTON ~ review for LIPTON green tea with Lemon Zest

Hellooo and welcome to my blog lovely readers. I hope all of you are in your best of health and the summer is not being too harsh on you! Off late I didn’t write a post on food because I am too much involved right now with creating all natural DIYs for my skin and hair ๐Ÿ˜› but here I am today with a post on GREEN TEA from Lipton. Hope you enjoy it ๐Ÿ™‚

The benefits of green tea by now I am sure are well known to you. Its rich in anti-oxidant which helps flush out all the toxins from your body. It’s light on the stomach plus with this you can even cut down your sugar cravings. What better than to start your day with a cup of green tea and keep feeling healthier and lighter throughout the day!

Yesterday I picked this one up. Its the LIPTON GREEN TEA and its flavored with LEMON ZEST. Now let me tell you, I am a big fan of the lime like smell. It rejuvenates my mood and instantly makes me happy. In summer I am always drinking lime sodas, lassis with lemon juice in it and I even incorporate lemon in mud packs. There were a few other varieties of green tea with different flavors but I picked this one. Plus, the last time I had bought green tea, I didn’t like the taste at all. I am not a big tea person. I am more of a coffee girl. But off late I was thinking of trying out green tea and so I picked this that has a hint of lemon in it.

The box has a green and yellow ombre texture to it. I kind of like the color co-ordination that goes on the box. I bought the one that has 10 tea-bags and it retails for Rs.60/-. When you’ll open the box, you’ll find the tea bagsย secured inside another silver bag. Cut it open gently and voila….you have all your tea bags ๐Ÿ™‚

By now I think all of you know how to make green tea. I did the same procedure.

  • I placed a tea bag in the cup and put some water to boil.
  • I placed a slice of lemon in my cup . This step is completely optional.
  • When the water had boiled, I poured it into the cup and let the tea bag sit for a minute.
  • You’ll know your green tea is ready when you see that light golden color in the cup.

Now, guys, for the first time in my life I liked green tea. This particular flavor is amazing. Next time I won’t even put that slice of lemon into it as it already has such a beautiful smell of lemon in it. The taste is sooooo good. I am not a tea person yet I liked this. So you can understand. I think I am starting by good health journey with this. I am going to drink this one every day. The flavor is so good that you can even make it into an iced tea version.

I am telling you people, if you never liked green tea or even if you like green tea, you need to try this one out. Its soooo good plus it has all the health benefits.

Next time, wake up to some beautiful light golden cup of tea and your day will be full of light ๐Ÿ™‚

Don’t forget to tell me how you liked it. I’m always eager to know from you guys. Till then, lots of love……XOXO

1Helloooo lovely people! How are you doing? Hope everything is sunny in your life and hope the summer is not torturing you yet ๐Ÿ™‚

Here is Kolkata its tooo sunny and too humid. And its a nightmare for oily skinned beauties. Our make-ups don’t stay up longer. Our face shines with oil all day and night. And we can’t keep those pimples at bay. Yes, oily skinned people like me simply hate summers. And with all those sweating and sebum secreting, we keep rubbing our face and make it more red. Uuuuurgh I hate summers!

To keep your skin toned and healthy and hydrated, I have come up with this beautiful and superb easy DIY. It’s ROSE WATER. Yes I know you can buy it easily from the stores but let me tell you one thing…….those store bought rose water have no nutrients in them. Its just water, rose essence/rose oil and preservatives. For someone like me, who has sensitive and oily skin, I like to know what I’m putting on my face. That’s why I came up with this and trust me once you make this and use this, you’ll never “BUY” rose water again. So, let’s begin…… ๐Ÿ™‚

What you’ll need:

  1. Roses. (I took 4 red roses. You can use either red or pink roses….whatever is available)
  2. Water
  3. Rose oil/essence (optional)

Let’s see how to make it ๐Ÿ™‚

  • Take off the petals from the roses. Discard the stem and leaves.
  • Take a pan, put the rose petals and pour water. The water must be just enough to cover the rose petals. If you want stronger smell then you can use less water but the appropriate proportion is 1 cup of petals to 2 cups of water i.e. 1:2 rose petals to water.
  • Cover the pan with a lid. Place it on a stove and let it simmer at the lowest heat possible. Don’t boil it. Never ever boil it.
  • At around 15-20 minutes of simmering, you’ll see that the petals have started to turn white and they are leaving all their color.
  • Simmer for another 5 minutes and turn off the heat.

This is exactly how the petals begin to look after simmering for 15 minutes. I took bright red roses. And they had already left their color. At this stage you’ll know that its done and let it sit.

  • Turn off the heat. Let it cool down completely.
  • If you want to have a stronger rose like smell, after it has cooled down, add 10-12 drops of it and give it a stir with spoon.
  • Strain it, pour it in your favorite mason jar or spray bottle and you are good to go ๐Ÿ™‚

Isn’t this the easiest way to make rose water! There are many other ways but I found this to be the easiest one.

Few things let me tell you. This one will not have a rose like smell after cooling. So if you really want that rose smell, you’ll need essence or oil. And refrigerate it. Once you keep it refrigerated, it’ll last for a month. If you want it to last more then add a shot of vodka in it. And the lid of the pan that you’ll use while simmering, make sure that it has no holes in it. Don’t let the vapor escape.

Try this one guys. You can add it in your face pack, take it in a cotton ball and wipe your face, wet a tissue and rub gently rub your face…’s good for everything. We all know that rose water is a wonderful toner and no matter what skin type you have it’ll help your skin to stay fresh, less irritated and hydrated. Plus, it helps shrink pores. So why wait……go and make this today ๐Ÿ™‚

Don’t forget to tell me how it turned out and if you have any more queries, feel free to post. If you want more DIYs then also do tell me.

Till then….stay beautiful….. XOXO ย ๐Ÿ™‚ Love you all ๐Ÿ™‚

How To Make CAPPUCINNO At Home

Well hello people…..its 15th February, one day post one of the greatest festivals of lover’s life. I hope you all had a beautiful Valentine’s day! Thank God it was a Sunday this year. Lazy people like me would have enjoyed staying back at home and ordering food and putting on PJs and watching romantic movies. And now to add to the misery, 15th is a Monday. And we all are getting those Monday blues. And we are looking everywhere for some #MondayMotivation. Here I am with an exciting coffee recipe that you can prepare to give that boost of energy on a Monday morning. P.S. You don’t require a coffee machine for this.

I am putting up an ingredient list but let me tell you, you can use things according to your preference.

  • Coffee – coarse or grounded (Nescafe or any available brand of coffee will do)
  • Sugar – Preferable take granulated sugar and not icing sugar.
  • Hot Milk – skim, double toned, full fat……any will do! The greater the fat content, the frothier it’ll be.
  • Cream – optional.

In this one, I have used regular coffee, granulated sugar and double toned milk without the cream.

I’ll illustrate the procedure step by step with pics.

  1. Take coffee and sugar in a cup. Now I won’t go into measurement because come on…..who cooks at home measuring every tablespoon and teaspoon! Add the ingredients as you want it. If you prefer stronger coffee, add little bit more of coffee powder. I like smoother creamier coffee so I kind of add equal quantity of coffee and sugar!ย 1
  2. Now add few drops of milk….be very cautious….don’t add more than 2-3 drops of milk. At the beginning you’ll feel the mixture is dry but that’s perfect. Keep stirring and you’ll see that everything is coming together. Take a look at the pics –

    3. You can see how it has changed color from dark brown to chocolaty brown. Keep stirring more because the whole key lies in stirring. You don’t have to stir vigorously but lightly for around 5 minutes till it begins to look like this –

    4. This mixture will double up in volume with constant stirring. And you can store this mixture for up to a week. Keep it in an air tight jar in the fridge and you can use it every time you want to have smooth creamy coffee. Now add just 2-3 ladle full of milk. Don’t fill up the cup all the way. After adding few ladles of milk, give it a good stir. Make sure you add boiling milk at this point coz we need to dissolve the sugar. (Best is, while making this, put the milk on stove at total low heat for boiling. By the time the milk will boil, the coffee paste will be ready). This is how it’ll look after you’ve added the milk and stirred –ย 6

5. By this time you’ll actually begin to feel that its becoming smooth. Now in my case, I added double toned milk. You can add cream or full fat milk or you can even add milk with water to fill the cup. After you have filled the cup, give it one quick stir and let it sit for few minutes and enjoy your cappucino.

I didn’t get a very thick froth because I used double toned milk. If you use full fat milk or cream, you’ll have a thicker froth. Anyway you’ll treat yourself to some heavenly coffee and once you are a pro at stirring it perfectly, you’ll never have coffee the regular way again!

Don’t forget to try this one and tell me how it turned out….!!! Beat your Monday blues or sit down for some “ME” time with your best cuppa in hand!

Till then….lots of love XOXO

Facia~ Facial Bar Review

Hellooo lovelies….how are you all doing??? I hope everybody is at their best of health and spirit. Again I think I’m writing a post after a week or so….everyday I make up my mind to write something here but somehow laziness just overcomes everything. Anyway here I am writing another post for a “FACIAL BAR”. Let’s read about my experience with it.
The name is FACIA. Its from Ratan Ayurvedic and retails for Rs. 40/- and you’ll find it at any cosmetic store. One bar, if you use twice daily will last you for a month and a half! I remember I saw its TVC long back in the 90’s when I was a kiddo. I had totally forgotten about this thing by the time I turned 20 and then one day I found it in a shop and thought of using it. The bar comes in a pinkish white packaging with the hologram of “FACIA” and they have recently added the tag “SPA” to it (I dunno why!!!!). It claims to have kesar and chandan and we all know how much beneficial these two are for the skin. Let’s take a look at it.

Now let’s take a look at how it works, what it has and how we are supposed to use it.

Now coming to the five F’s , leaving the rest I think every other skin product in the Indian market claims to make you “FAIR”. That is something I really hate. For everything that claims to make us fair, there are those outside the Indian subcontinent who are dying to get tanned. I guess we are never satisfied with what we have….even our skin tone. But if you ask me, I totally hate this “FAIR” claim because I literally don’t think that fair people are the most gorgeous people. Where we have beauties like Katrina Kaif here, we also have the dusky talents like Sushmita Sen, Deepika Padukone, Nandita Das and so on. We all are beautiful irrespective of skin tone and every product that claims to make you fair are just claiming it to increase their sales and they just give a temporary glow in the skin that makes you appear fairer for few hours. I believe in healthy skin and if your skin is healthy you’ll automatically have a natural glow!

As it states, you have to use it minimum twice to get the benefits of it. Its ingredients are pretty good and it smells like it has camphor in it. There are also kesar like strands on top of the bar. The bar is basically midway of transparent and opaque…..somewhat like the Pears soap. Here is how it looks…..

It comes with a small plastic case for holding it and it looks really cute.

Now let’s get down to the actual review.

I have oily and acne prone skin with few acne marks here and there. And in summers my skin feels like it has been soaked in oil. The first time I used it for a week I didn’t notice any change. But…….after a month……I found that with constant use, the tan I had all over my face and neck was lightening. Plus, there were fewer and fewer pimples on my face. Can you believe that? A product that costs just Rs. 40 and really doesn’t look that awesome like those costly products actually doing that? This product did it. It lightened my tan and reduced my pimples. Yes in summers I still have pimples but just a few. Previously my face used to be covered in pimples almost and now its almost gone. Yes I use ointments prescribed by the doctor but I think using them paired with this facial bar helped the acne disappear faster. This soap/bar lathers up quite well and efficiently removes make up. Your skin will feel dry after you have used this in winter so use a moisturizer after using it. But in summers, since I have oily skin its pretty okay with me. My skin feels oil free and really free from all the dirt and sebum.

But this won’t control oil secretion. My skin still feels oily in summer as I have an excessive oily T-zone. I would recommend to use it twice a week and definitely before bed time. Before going off to sleep, wash your face with this and apply your night cream and gradually you’ll feel your skin becoming healthy.

It won’t make you fair but yes it helps in reducing tan. With prolonged use, your skin will hardly even tan in summer. How cool is that???? I know its pretty awesome.

So, give this little so-what-not-so-appealing packaged facial bar a try for at-least a month and see the results for yourself. I can guarantee that you’ll feel a lot of change in your skin and this will make you happy and soon you’ll swear by it. Buy this today.

Now….the pros and cons:

  • Helps in reducing tan
  • Helps prevent pimples
  • Keeps skin healthy
  • Gives a subtle glow in the skin with prolonged use

  • This is not travel friendly. How can you carry a soap when you are travelling?
  • Few might not like the smell

Yup, not much cons! So final verdict???

Will I repurchase???? ย I am using this for a year now and already on my fourth one! So hell yeah!

Is it cost effective???? This does wonders to your skin at just Rs. 40/-…..judge it for yourself!

I’ll strongly recommend that everyone give this a try and don’t forget to tell me how it fared on your skin! Till then……take care and stay beautiful ๐Ÿ™‚

Chicken Lasagna at FOODPATH

Hiiii guys! How are you all doing???? Well first of all let me wish you a very happy Republic Day! Let’s pledge today for a better future of our nation and work together for it.

This is my blog’s first food review! I will be coming up lots of easy DIY recipes that take no time absolutely, but I thought to review this because I have never reviewed any restaurant or food joint before and I wnated to try out how it goes. So here is the first review of FOODPATH, a joint in Bangur Avenue that serves Continental and Chinese. You can read about them by clicking the Zomato widget.

To begin with, I am an Italian food lover and I love anything that has cheese in it. Lasagna was something that I always wanted to try. I had always seen it on TV channels where chefs used to whip up lasagnas and cheese used to bubble on top. But sadly, I never had a convection/grill microwave at home so could never make it. So, when this joint opened up and I read about it I knew what I had to try first. Yes it was LASAGNA. I placed an order for chicken lasagna and they said they’ll deliver it at home (yaaaayyyy). The chicken lasagna costs Rs. 179/- inclusive of taxes. Now lets get down to theย review!

I placed an order for it around 7:40 PM and it was delivered by 8:30PM. The food was piping hot and carefully packed. The lasagna also comes with two triangular pieces of herbed-garlic bread! All of it was carefully packed in aluminium sheet and the lasagna sat beautifully in an aluminium vessel…..!

Now as I unwrapped it, I could smell the delicious aroma of the lasagna! And once I opened, I fell in love ๐Ÿ˜€

Coming to the taste and texture! It has gooey melted cheese with the perfect needed little burnt flavor with a velvety smooth pasta sheet that engulfs assorted veggies and chicken cooked in red sauce to perfection. The veggies include broccoli, bell pepper, tomato, carrot, mushrooms and corn! And there is chicken in every bite you take. The quantity is good enough for two people. I’ll only suggest that if you buy it, take an extra plate of garlic bread with it. Lasagna goes soooo much better with garlic bread. The sauce in which the veggies and chicken were cooked were a bit spicy and that cheese totally balances the flavor. With every bite, you’ll feel like you are melting in cheese. This is a cheese lovers delight. Now, trying new dishes always tell me aomething about myself that I didn’t know before. This time it was BROCCOLI. I never knew broccoli tasted this bad. I am never having broccoli in my life. Next time whatever I order from wherever, I am gonna ask them specifically to make it without broccoli. Other than that, the lasagna was perfect, perfectly seasoned, well balanced, great to the eyes and also to the tongue. I was halfway through it and already full.

So, next time if you are in Bangur or Sinthi (they have one outlet at Sinthi too), do give this a visit. The Bangur restaurant is also awesome with all colorful interior. I’ll update this post coz very soon I’ll be taking one of my fellow reviewer there to try it out ๐Ÿ˜€

Cost effective?ย  Yep! I give it 4.5/5

Tasty Food? Hell Yeah! Full 5/5

Will I try it again? ย Yes yes yes ye
